This is a very scenic hike, with views from the summit down to Echo Lake and also up to the mountains behind. Coming up from the lake, we counted the trail intersections and, because the map doesn’t show all of the trails, made the mistake of turning left too early. So the normal distance should be more like 3 miles. It turns out that the intersection with the White Horse Ledge Trail is marked with a sign, so you can just wait until you see that.
